Jeff Dunham Tickets: Hysterical Animated Comedy

By Matt Ryan

Jeff Dunham - like many other comedians - will have you rolling on the floor with laughter. Jeff; however, does have a bit of a different niche. He uses puppets in his comedy acts; he can plead innocent to any crude remarks, as it is usually the puppet making them. His tours sell out quickly forcing management to add additional appearances. Jeff is performing many live shows, has sold millions of DVDs, and has recently reached the multi-million sales mark.

Jeff is from Dallas, Texas; like many other comics, began his career alone, as a standup comic. Dunham's wife, and three kids, is now a great source of support for Dunham and his career.

In'80's, when he and his puppets began to be noticed, he began performing at comedy clubs along with popular TV shows like the Late Show with David Letterman, Johnny Carson, Star Search, and even Comedy Central Presents.

Each performance Jeff begins with slight comedy, and at the right moment, pulls one of his puppets, from his suitcase, for the real show. Some of his most infamous characters are Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Jose Jalapeno, and Sweet Daddy D.

Each puppet has its own unique personality, so much so, that audiences tend to forget that Jeff is in control of every movement and word. One of Jeff's creations, whom has warmed the hearts of many, is Walter. Walter is a grumpy old man who has been married for 48 years. This character is extremely opinionated, to say the least, about society and how the world is today. He has no qualms about revealing his bitterness, about his wife, the audience, and the entire world; to everyone he performs in front of.

Another crowd pleaser is Achmed the Dead Terrorist. While Jeff - and his puppets - are normally welcomed with open arms, this particular character has been banned by the South African Advertising Standards Authority due to comments made against certain religions. Creatively, Achmed is the skeletal remains of a suicide bomber, and is known for his hideous screams of "I KILL YOU" and for his joyous rendition of "Jingle-Bombs".

He was at home when he purchased one of his latest costumes, for one of his most recent characters - Melvin the Superhero. This new character rang in, not only the fans, but the sales as well. Since Melvin's first appearance, Dunham has now appeared in films such as "Arguing with Myself", "Spark of Insanity", and even of his own "Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas".

Jeff, along with his devious side, has continued along the path of making people laugh through the use of vile, animated characters. Every audiences sits, in anticipation, waiting to see who is in the suitcase. Regardless of who it is, you are still in for quite a treat. His approach to comedy is quickly making its way around; the more people hear of his performances, the higher the ticket sales! If you ever have the opportunity to see Jeff Dunham, whether live or on TV, take the chance. You will never experience a laugh quite like this one. - 29848
