Notable Television Shows From The Television Winter Season

By Darryl Fremont

There's no better time to watch TV than when it's cold outside. Unfortunately, good winter programming can be a little harder to find than it is during the other seasons of the year. There are still some great shows out there though.

It's out there, but you simply have to dig a little deeper for it. Through my research, I stumbled onto a couple of TV shows that haven't exactly caught on yet, even though the shows themselves are highly enjoyable.

Here are a few of the better shows I've encountered during the 2010 winter TV season so far. I'd recommend watching any of these.

ABC has a great comedy series entering its second season in Better Off Ted. If you're unfamiliar with this series, the best way to sum it up is by comparing it to The Office. The characters on this show are great, and you'll likely compare some of them to people at your own workplace.

The humor is really smart, and many compare it to the writing style of Arrested Development. If you're in the mood for a smart comedy, tune into this show.

Another great show worth watching is Men of a Certain Age, which is broadcast on TNT. This show stars Ray Romano and a few other middle aged male actors and it chronicles the life of a 40 something and the changes that occur during this stage of our lives.

Romano is back, seeking to find success in a second series, and he may well do that here. This show pulls you in after an episode or two.

Lastly, these shows are more well known at this point, but both Jersey Shore and The Real World on MTV provide an entertaining dose of reality drama if you get a kick out of this genre. You'll never know what happens next with each crew, as every week is full of unexpected action. - 29848
